Later, he pursued his passion for sports and coaching through F.A.S.T (Footwork, Agility, Speed Training - all sports). When he first moved to the Bay Area with his wife in 2010, he was a basketball official for the MCAL for several years. In 2012, he founded The County Bears, a basketball AAU program. In addition to training full time, the growth of The County Bears program has kept him busy year round. He resides in Marin with his wife, and three sons. He began refereeing while still in high school and got into coaching in 2012, soon after he graduated from Redwood. Mike is a PE teacher at an elementary school in Fairfax, and has been running sports enrichment programs and youth basketball leagues for the city of San Anselmo since 2015. Along with coaching, he runs individual and group basketball skills training focusing on ball handling, finishing and shooting. He started out with the St Mary’s CYO program since its inception in 2012, and began coaching with The County Bears in 2016.
